Last night’s trasmision was unique and wonderful. The dinner was a feast, but our guest for the forum did not show up. Marcus, my collaborator for the forum this week, was worried and nervous and seemed to be pretty hard on himself about it. It felt amazing to give him a big warm hug and start the show a half an hour early and dedicate it completely to life, love, and all the stars in the sky.
The party came on the night following my twentyseventh anniversary of sobriety. The very day I chose life over death. Ariadne hosted a wonderful party at Kirk’s house for me. So many people came, and we ate amazing food, and I got a chance to tell my story, and then everyone went around the room and embarassed me with beautiful stories of me. I was full, overflowing with love by 4pm. On a day like yesterday, November 1st, the most important day of every year, the most important day in my life, I wanted so much to bring this love with me into the set for you, for me, and for everyone.
Corbin and Emily had to take bart to the party because the bay bridge is out right now. Imagine taking mass transit from so far away into the city in order to be with us, and bring a beautiful little light for us to marvel at. At one point I got so excited about the classic house track I was playing I lifted it up over my head and we all cheered and celebrated their love and beautiful conotribution to this weekly little gathering.
I tried with all I had to be as intimate and fearless as possible with the music tonight. I wanted to tell you how much I love you, how grateful I am for you, and not only with the musical selections, but also with my words. So I opened my heart and let it all come flying out. I sang right to you, pressing my forehead against yours without a mic, and closing my eyes, and singing my heart’s contents to the stars. The party was perhaps the smallest one yet, but that didn’t stop me from welcoming love and starlight into the room, and spreading it right back attcha baby.
As has been true since we began at Space Gallery, I was unable to follow any of the contents of the chat. I checked in here and there, and just trusted that you guys are fine, and having a good time. And in the end I thanked you for being there, for listening, and for never ever letting me down.
