Like many of you, I felt that the music had been doctored in some way. I could hear the reversed sounding vocals clearly enough, but figured that the author of the page had done it to be funny. I moved on.
Further along in my search, I came to a site with the Britney Spears reversed vocal. I laughed. Really. I thought that was pretty funny. I never thought for a second that Britney Spears records would really have that kind of reverse message in it. I didn’t take it seriously, rather, I thought it was ironic, and therefore really funny.
Since I was looking for a preset for my reverb plugin to make sounds just like this, or similar, I wrote to the author and asked how he did it. He replied, “I simply reversed the audio recording and there it was.”
I am skeptical. Naturally. So i took the original CD, grabbed the section in question, reversed it myself, and there it was. It was true. All of the samples here are the original versions, and then a reversed version of the exact same file.
It doesn’t matter to me if you believe this or not, I posted it here because I thought it was funny. If it’s an issue for you, I challenge you to get your own copy of these songs, grab the sections I’ve pointed out here, and reverse them. You can reverse audio using any number of freeware and sharewware audio editors. Do it yourself, it takes about a minute of your time once you’ve found the section you want to reverse. Try it and see.
Don’t take my word for it, and don’t take any one else’s either. Do it yourself, see for yourself, and enjoy your life! Have fun.

The questions began, and Gene didn’t make it past the $1,000 question (3 in.) Sad is the man who relys upon the ego to drive him through a car wash when he doesn’t own a car.
I would hang on to that responsibility for your actions thing a little while longer…
Gene Simmons was on a game show!?! My life is not complete without seeing that but I’ll keep to the road of responsibility.

Well, I hate to admit this, but i just llistened to the vocal dub of ‘Do it now’ backwards about four times and sadly there are no hidden messages in there.
I think the secret message is in the forward vocal…

Robert Plant disclaims any knowledge of reverse messages. He is recalcitrant and quickly irritated by the subject. Yet, the odds of reversed lyrics sounding out identifiable phrases are deeply unlikley.
I have listened to several of my songs in reverse since posting this, and found no messages, no ideantifiable lyrics of any kind. I was actually sort of disappointed.
So it leads me to believe that these are intentional, planned, and skillfully crafted messages.
Try it yourself… see what you come up with.
I too wonder how planned these messages were-they are not popping up like they used to. Other than the Brittney Spears track, the rest of the backmasking is from long ago.
I’m gonna see if “We Used To Dance” backwards reveals a “it’s last call/time to go” message :)

Yes, I’m left with exactly the same impression. Seems to me that it takes a lot of work to make that kind of message come across as clearly as they do in these examples.
I don’t believe for one second that they’re purely accidental.
