Undertaking a solo effort…

I’ve begun work on my solo album. No label I know is interested in releasing a remix comp, live album, or collection from Dubtribe, so in the interest of forging ahead I’ve had to make some decisions.

Immediately I am torn apart by my various urges… One the one hand I wanna fuck shit up. I wanna make house music, stripped, electronic and passionate house music. On the other hand I wanna complete the cycle of the last five years and make some sense of myself, my life, and find some way of sewing my silver threads into a fabric I might be able to fold and store with respect and love.

I have decided to explore both. However, my effort at the moment is strictly a set of covers which have meant a lot to me in my life. Decidedly electronic, but not house music. I spent the day singing along to a DRM16 (very old pattern based, unprogrammable drum machine) and playing chords on the Rhodes while an analog bassline arpeggiated in stops and starts through the delay unit.

I want to cover the emotional, miserable, and the intimate drivel of my lost years with a degree of composure, and intentional lack of emotion.

I’ll keep you posted on my progress…

The Stone Roses’ first album created an unparalleled legacy in music in just a few months. Childhood friends’ musical dreams fully realized. First tour stop for the second album… it had already collapsed from within. Who could have predicted?

Forge on! With courage… and humility.

“Many moons have passed since our paths last crossed
Did you maybe lose your way? ’cause time is my everything

    …Child, don’t you fear anything
For even the greatest men, shall have to stand in line
I know you’re gonna see it in the fullness of time”

    very intriguing.

no doubt the process will be good for you.

whatever you create will be pleasing to the mind/ear/heart/hips, imo.
