I’ve made some decisions about my community supported recording project. I wrote an update today in the progress section and you can either read about the specifics there, or gather the abstract here. Essentially I’ve got enough music for two or three albums, and have been upsy-downsy about the response to the projwxt (delighted with the support, serious about the idea, but confused about how to break out of my little world and spread the word further) and frankly I’m not really sure why people who don’t already inhabit my little world would care about a community I’m working as a part of to further the interests of electronic music heads, house people, and something which many things have come to build on top of and moved on from. I got nothing against the 80’s revival, looks like the kids are all right to me, but it’s not my thing, and I want to gather up the possé and move ‘em out. So the byproducts of this sort of this sort of navel gazing hasn’t been entirely beautiful. At least it’s been interesting.
I began recording today. Yes I did. I have two working titles, and have spent the afternoon playing the bass into the sequencer, and working out a few vocal harmonies. For better or worse it’s time to move forward, assuming that this is the budget we’re working with, and perhaps once we get moving some bloomers, even later than me, might help us blow a little more wind into our project together.
Read up, and get up. We’re in motion.

Awesome, no time like the present I don’t think the well has run dry on the fund raising. I just think the word isn’t out like it should be to get the support you need. It’s not that the people don’t care they just don’t know whats going on… I put another log on the fire today cause I know you got the marshmallows …. BIG love ..Tre

I heard a piece on public radio a couple weeks ago about artists doing what you are doing. How Reznor can sell so much in one day is baffling.
I really wanted to call NPR and tell them about you. I suppose I could go to the website and plant some plugs for you.
I am also puzzled cause I posted about this project on the mn vibe http://mnvibe.com and apparently no one from MN came over to support. I don’t get it.
Anyway, I read “…press record” as in to press a record, like vinyl. but I guess that is not likely without a much larger budget.
