  3. Last Sunday night’s broadcast was amazing. Simply a baad ass show. The best in a very long time for me. Wow. I made the flyer and then got very busy with other things. About an hour before show time on sunday I sat down to consider the theme – compartimento defumadores – and imagined trains, boxes, smoke, crowds, filth, desperation, relief, restrictions, frustration, civil liberties, health, fresh air, inner peace, and taking a ride to nowhere. Aside from my 120 bpm resyncopation of ‘Ride Like The Wind’ I was at a complete loss for what to play. So I sifted through my collection, hunting for friends, and family, anything which might give a clue to these train tracks, this ticket in my hand without a destination.

We began slowly, and were swiftly transported away. I was amazed in real time by the power of instinct, and inspiration. We journeyed from the likes of Grover Washington Jr. to Evelyn Champaign King, and along the way we made a deeper connection with Chateau Flight, Shit Robot, and Jimpster. I’m never sure of myself, apart from my devotion to electronic music, and the joy I take from making these digital mosaics every week, but something came over me as the train pulled out of the station and I let go. I was laughing, crying, dancing wildly, and words just kept flowing right out of me.

So moved, I expressed my dissertaion on time, and schedules. I pantsed the ‘lovers of the world’ and challenged us all to love harder, to be more honest, to do better. I described the first hand experience of sleeping all night in a smoking compartment, and then let out with a long, and personal expression of love itself. I tell you truly, I needed this show so badly. The muse came down and moved right through me.

Attendance started off in a record breaking fashion, the chat woke up slowly, and we were off on a journey. New friends, old friends, and the passing landscapes of places this train was not going to be stopping at. I boarded the train wondering why I was going, but knowing in my heart that I had to leave. And we arrived at our unknown destination transformed, exposed, and free.
