Last sunday night’s transmission was lots of fun. The technical part was a little challenging, my guest Kristopher Muse and I were at Dino V’s place in Chicago called Brando’s and the internet connect was a little unreliable, so it was hard for people to remain logged in and listening for a decent portion of the show, but it was a really low key, and laid back night out in chilly january chicago.
Kristopher Muse is a fantastic dj, producer, promoter, and all around guy. He knows his tunes, loves his crew, and is in touch with our collective history. We played twice together last weekend, and we even went to the Chicago Art Institute on monday. Good people, real people. I love it.
Dino V. sat in on the mic for a few songs. He has been a vocalist on a lot of tracks, and spent the last few years pretty busy with other things. I loved that his eyes lit up at the sight of the mic, and couldn’t resist. His enthusiasm was contagious, and hopefully we’re reeled him back to house. Cause you know… no matter where you go baby, it all comes back to house!
Kristopher recorded the Obama acceptance speech and brought it along and threw it into the mix as we brought the night to a close. It was a great idea, and it really united the room at the end of our night together.
Mark Roth was there in the flesh, as was Jana Lewis, Christine, Halley, and a handful of new friends and groovers. Sunday night, just right.
