Sunday Soul: afterparty: March 15th 2009

Listen at the wall:

At 10pm in San Francisco (which is 1 am in Manhattan, and a sleepy 6 am in London) you can head over to 90hz.org and click the big play button.
For a little bit more of a sophisticated listening experience you can grab the 90hz IP address and drop it into iTunes, or WinAmp or WMP or however you listen to inter-web audio and rock it like that.

Easy.

Meet me on the roof:

We get together in the chat at 90hz. We are a tight group of friends, we talk seriously, and freely. It’s nice if you’re up for that. It might be weird if you’re not.
To join in the dialog, sign up for the 90hz forum and then click the “chat” link from anywhere on 90hz.org and come on in.

Call the cops:

Sign up for the 90hz.org mailing list. We never ever share our email list with a single solitary soul. You opt in, and you opt out. It’s up to you completely.
Head over to 90hz.org and make the decision for yourself.

  3. Last night’s transmission was, well in the wake of the full moon, madness. I’d planned to get deep down — deep down — and take us into a personal place with music. I wanted to play the sound track of your eyes, and the wee hours of the morning. After a false start where channel two suddenly stopped working, something I can’t quite account for came over me. The flood of friends and heads arriving in the chat, strong turn out despite my shabby promotion, that first track which always blows my heart wide open… whatever it was, I tell you I lost control of myself. So there I was, sweaty, smiling, singing along, chanting, and unconcerned about the mixing… I enjoyed a little lycanthropy, a little love, a little sex, and suddenly this after party wasn’t nearly as wholesome as I had originally intended.

When I came back to the room and felt present you were right there with me. There were some hard feelings about my critique of desks in one of my spoken word pieces, and I was able to turn it out and make some fun of myself and my strong opinions. A friend showed up with some trouble in his heart, and I repeated myself in his honor. Even if you aren’t actually in my arms, even if we aren’t actually in conversation, even if we aren’t actually making love, somehow… we are. I had a guest in the studio for the first couple of hours of the show and we danced and laughed together. When I was done, and my house was quiet, I found little notes posted all over my house. I’m still finding them this morning, and it recalls the magic of last night’s mischief and suddenly hauls it into monday with laughter and joy.

I love how intimate and powerful music can be. I love how transformed I feel right now. So you know… I do this program for you, because I want to, because I need to, because I love you. You never let me down. Thank you.

    Support Sunday Soul:
We need you. Please come to sundaysoul.com and enjoy the archives, download them, and revel in hours of my internal life. But while you’re there, please consider contributing something to help keep Sunday Soul free of charge, and on the air. It also looks like we are in need of a new microphone as well. A three hour weekly live/dj set takes time to prepare, money to produce, and I just can’t do it without you.

    The Archive:
The archive is posted now into the footer of both the community section of Treehouse Muzique — my record label, and Sunday Soul — the web site for the broadcast. You can listen from these pages, open it up into a new window, or download the archive for your ipod.
