My son and I speak every day, and as often as we can we enjoy a video chat. While this is optional for other platforms, the mac makes it so easy, and so much fun, that my son and I see one another, play games, I get to enjoy his homework, art work, and see how fast he can run any time we want to.
Tonight my little man decided to show me how many sit ups he can do. It was cute. He pointed the camera to the floor, got down on his back, and then did what amount to the sweetest little crunches I’ve ever seen in my life. then he flipped over and showed me just how cute and charming a six year old doing push ups can be. I suggested we try some jumping jacks, and those were the best. My favorite part was his explanation that he can’t clap his hands over his head when he does his jumping jacks because that takes too long, and it’s faster if he does them just a little bit. Effectively he looked like the happiest little flapping jack I’d ever seen in my life.
Since were doing exercise together, I decided to show my son a few situps. Those went well so I thought I’d show him a few push ups. Those went well too, so I showed him the extra special push ups where I clap in between them. I even did (one) one-handed push up for him. It was delightful and we had a lovely time.
I think it’s great that my son is getting interested in sports, exercise, and his body. I love to see him undertake new challenges, and get interested in mastering them.
I just wish I wasn’t in mortal pain right now from showing off for my son.

i’m sorry for your pain, amigo, but this line at the end of your entry is great. you make being woken up @ 5am with acid reflux almost worth it :)

Hahahaha This is a sure sign that exercise wants to go into your body as well, only consistently. ;) It is much more fun that way, and there is not that mortal pain, just aliveness in the body.
