My Gramma’s Potato Soup

Recently i spent some time with my Grandmother. She told me about her Potato soup recipe. It made us both hungry just talking about it, so as soon as i got home, i made up a batch. It was surprisingly simple to make, and made a wonderful warm meal on a rainy night for three people, with enough left over for lunch the next day.

Ingredients:
2 idaho potatos
1 stalk of celery
1 small carrot
1/2 of a yellow onion
1 1/2 cups of whole milk
butter
salt
pepper

Directions:
1. Slice the potatos thin, and cut the slices in half.
2. dice the onion and celery
3. mince the carrot
4. combine in a pot, and cover with water. just slightly over the top of the vegetables.
5. boil until soft, until the potato falls apart with a fork’s inspection.
6. add milk and stir well.
7. season with butter, salt and pepper to taste.
8. bring it back up to a light boil.
9. serve (it’s even better the next day.)

Yummy served with fresh plum slices, lemonaid and a sour batard.

I would append the recipe, and suggest using three potatos instead of two. Makes it a little thicker, and even better the next day.

so that was the problem! do you peel the potatoes or leave the skin on? also, what’s a sour batard?
