I just completed all three seasons of Lost. Some of it was on DVD, through netflix, but I got impatient and started buying them from iTunes and watching them on my laptop, or on my iPod on the airplane. Tonight I finished the entire series thus far. I am saturated, stunned, and feel something like a crack head, desperate for an explanation, a conversation, or maybe just one more episode I haven’t seen yet.
I consider the twists and turns, the skilled character development. Delight in the taunting lore and mystery of the writing. Savor the beauty of the photography, and the almost complete believability of the acting. So fresh, so original, and yet the series is timeless in its questions and at its basic core.
I want somehow to sum it all up, to express my ego’s infatuation with Jack and how deeply I identify with him on every level, how I feel no compassion for Sawyer no matter what he does, and how I adore Sayid. I want to spoil it all for you if you haven’t seen it before. The words dance around my lips, and the pictures al blur together in my head. But it’s only a television show… I’ll spare you.
Instead I think I am going to sleep on it, and then perhaps begin again from the beginning.

i never watched in OZ but have cfaught two episodes on cable here i just couldn’t understnd the fuss.
However I can buy complete series here opn DVD for about $1.50 per DVD so maybe I will try the first series out.
I have bought and loved the first series of 2 British comedy programs I had heard of but never seen Alan Partridge and The League of Gentlemen. Both are extremly funny and you can see the influence of TLOG on Little Britain.
Anything that builds up and continues a story like LOST or the Sopranos, or the WIre is hard to get into by sampling the middle. I think that even the X-Files may have been somewhat like that as well, though when they tried to adjust for that they lost the plot on the show completely.
Definitely watch the pilot. If you’re not rivited by the end, then nevermind.
My husband bought Season 1 in Ecuador last month and was hooked. We have been renting the rest, 4 more episodes to finish Season 2. I have only caught bits and peices myself; if we were both watching, there would be no one to spend time with my daughter. It’s tempting to ask ‘wait, what just happened’, but how in the hell can anyone recap ‘Lost” ? One day, I’ll start from the beginning and enjoy them myself.
