The future is now.

Apple announced the iPhone today.
It’s a telephone, a movie player, a widescreen iPod, an internet browser, an email and sms message device, a photo viewer and more.

This is an amazing phone.

It sure looks like Cingular is going to be the exclusive dealer, carrier for the phone. And if I know anything about phone companies, I know that Cingular is the worst possible carrier anyone could have (apart from Sprint.) and so my experience with the iPhone is going to have to be vicariously through the excitement of others until the agreement expires and TMobile carry them.

I’ll spare you my backstory here, but I’ve waited about 5 years for this day, and I don’t mind waiting a couple more to have an iPod/Telephone where my bill is actually what they promise it will be every month.

But I don’t want to spoil the fun here with the carnage of my bad experiences with Cingular Wireless, ATT, and Sprint. It’s a great day for telephony! Let’s have a phone party!

Yay!
