I read Ms Ruth Brown’s obituary in the NY times this afternoon. What an amazing woman. Not knowing all that much about this woman, learning about her, & her achievements this lovely Saturday afternoon had me a little teary-eyed.

I didn’t know that about Redd Foxx. I do know he was a very magical guy. He kidnapped me, myself once. Totally turned my heart around.

  3. Did Redd Foxx really actually kidnap you??

  4. Elaine:

Yes, he really did. It’s kind of a long story but we worked on Paramount lots together and … he kidnapped me.

  5. I hope it was a positive experience for you.

kidnapped is such an interesting word, sets me on edge, makes me think of terrible things.

but then, there’s always the kidnapping done by friends to wisk you away from work, or school on your birthday and so on…

    fingers crossed for the latter.

  6. Elaine:

Oh it was definitely a positive experience. Very sweet and very very funny. Will tell you about it another time. :) He really cheered me up when I was down in the dumps one day. I’ll always remember him fondly.
