I wanted to give a big up to Mr. Ted Koppel of ABC News. I do not watch mainstream news programs regularly because I feel they are skewed propaganda and sensationalists for the most part. I got enough imagination to dramatize and blow today’s headlines out of proportion on my own, and really don’t need or want any help with that. However, Mr. Koppel on one of last week’s editions of Nightline had the head of FEMA on, and I was pleased to see the man get questioned, checked, and even what I would call scolded for failing at his primary task of helping the people of New Orleans.

…with all due respect sir, the people in the superdome are not being fed.

What I liked most about the broadcast was that unlike most news programs on major networks as well as cable where the talking head is allowed to spew their propaganda without serious questioning, or they are there as a token to be beaten down and allow the opposition to look strong, Ted corrected Mr. Brown more than once, accused him of failure, asked him why and left him hanging there stuttering in his own unqualified speech, and then thanked him for having the courage to show up at all. Excellent journalism Mr. Koppel. Rare, and well received by this skeptical and interested observer. Thank you.
