As a hiker and a nature lover, one of the biggest bummers of a long hike up into the mountains has always been the complete lack of the café experience. There I am, half way up a beautiful trail and I want to head back… not because the trail has defeated me, but because I want to sit down, open a book, and sip an espresso and have a coffee. These conflicting impulses have been a constant contrast in my life — First I’m sitting at the cafe, staring up at the mountain longing for a hike — next I’m half way up the mountain, staring off into the valley below longing for a cafe, a table, random people on cell phones, a book, a new york times, a smoke, a smoke. What’s a fractured modernist to do?
Enter the Handpresso:

Just pump it up, fill it with hot water from your thermos or flask, drop in a coffee pod, screw the top on, and make yourself some frothy, crema rich, esspresso coffee.
The perfect solution to a split personality like mine.

very clever indeed. I want one myself.
Hell, I don’t even have an espresso maker for my house.
I think I just want to go for a hike, camp, somewhere, where it is beautiful, and have my (er hum decaf) espresso/americano.
That’s awesome…it is the perfect solution! and the video is in french…hehe…une bonne solution mon amie!
