"Love does not equal suffering." I used to suffer in love all the time, until I finally found that love without suffering does actually exist. As an example; I love you, my brother, without suffering. I used to. I admit I used to suffer when I wouldn't hear from you and I would suffer when I would expect you to be there and you couldn't be. Now, I don't suffer that anymore because in my maturity, I realized that love is not something to be measured. It's not measured in phone calls, or cards written or meals shared. It just is. And I feel it. And I believe it. I do not expect it to be proven to me any longer. And I no longer believe that you are in love when the love is not returned. I truly think love is a shared experience, even if it doesn't last forever. And lucky for me, I have been dusted with this same experience in romantic love. My new belief is ~ Love = Mutual Admiration without Expectation. (and no, I didn't read that in a Dr. Phil book, ok!?)
